[0:00] chapter 5. For those following in the church Bible, it's on page 7.
[0:16] Page 7, Genesis chapter 5. Let's hear the word of God.
[0:26] This is the written account of Adam's family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them.
[0:40] And he named them mankind when they were created. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image, and he named him Seth.
[0:52] After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
[1:07] When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh. And after he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
[1:21] Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died. When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.
[1:32] And after he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
[1:45] When Kenan had lived 60 years, he became the father of Mahalalel. And after he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
[2:00] Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died. When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.
[2:14] And after he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
[2:30] When Jared lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch. And after he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
[2:45] Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died. When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.
[2:56] And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
[3:08] Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God. Then he was no more, because God took him away.
[3:20] May God, again, add his blessing to that reading of his word. Let's turn to God in prayer. Let's pray together. Readings taken from the letter to the Hebrews and chapter 11.
[3:36] Hebrews chapter 11. Again, if you're following in the Church Bible, it's on page 1209. Hebrews chapter 11.
[3:56] Again, let's hear the word of God. Now, faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
[4:11] This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God's command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
[4:21] By faith, Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith, he was commended as righteous when God spoke well of his offerings.
[4:33] And by faith, Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. By faith, Enoch was taken from this life so that he did not experience death.
[4:45] He could not be found because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
[5:08] Again, may God bless to us that reading was holy and inspired word. Amen. We're now going to sing again.
[5:22] And our hymn is 456. 456. Give me the faith which can remove and sink the mountain to a plain.
[5:34] Give me the childlike praying love which longs to build thy house again. 456. 456. 456. 456. 456.
[5:45] 456. 456. 456. 456. 456. 456.
[5:57] 456. 456. 456. 456. 456. 456. two guys in the same room.
[6:34] So divine I want an even strong desire I want a darling Forever steel To say for songs That are often high To station from The bed of hell And turn them to The parting heart And place the breath In Jesus' blood Why would the precious I'd redeem And over him For days alone
[7:37] To spend and to be spent For them Who have not yet My Saviour long For the peace My creation Proof And only We To bring In the love In the love My God's gifts And praises Lord In to thy mercy And we see And let me live To preach Thy word And let me To thy glory Live My Every
[8:40] Sacred Clement Sunt Hymn Anh Faim The spirit of strength May not invade and fill my heart With the maturity divine So shall I all my strength exist And of the will the sea of my life And take them to my own side As she follow the shadow of the light Let's pray.
[9:45] Let's pray. Our God and our Father we thank you again That we come before you We thank you that you've not left us ignorant of the things yourself But you have given us your word and you've given us your Holy Spirit The spirit of truth Who will lead us into all truth And therefore oh God we pray that again we might testify to the fact that you have met with us this night And that we will leave this place rejoicing in that fact Again Lord God we pray for the pastor of this church Peter We pray oh God you will be with him and grant him a speedy recovery from this time of illness And again we pray for him and for Ange and the family and pray oh God you will bless and encourage them And all those who comprise the church here We ask in your hand to be upon this place Amen Amen
[10:47] Well this evening we're going to look particularly at that verse we find in In Hebrew chapter 11 where we find it says without faith it is impossible to please God Would you describe yourself as men pleasers?
[11:11] Well I hope in fact you would say yes to that Because again we would want to be pleasing to men We wouldn't want to cause offence We wouldn't want to get people's backs up as it were We want to live in harmony with folk And we would want really to win a hearing for the gospel To establish good friendships, good relationships And so in that sense I would hope that we would seek to be pleasers of men But more so we should seek to be pleasers of God And I said we do not please men but we please God That is the most important thing If we please everyone else but God is ultimately displeased with us Then we are doing something wrong
[12:12] But if on the other hand we offend others But God is pleased with us Then we enter into his eternal joy And the author of this letter to the Hebrews Which directs us to the life of this character Called Enoch Enoch is described very clearly as a man Who pleased God He lived in the seventh generation from Adam That time it was just before the flood So it was a time of great evil We think of the time of the flood When we read that God looked upon the world He saw the thoughts of men's hearts Was towards evil continually And it repented the Lord that he made man upon the earth And this is a phrase that always gets me when I read it It grieved him at his heart
[13:16] That's what sin does It grieves God at his heart It's something which God doesn't just sweep it under the carpet and forget about It grieves him When he sees his creation Rejecting his ways And these were the days in which Enoch was living And yet we read of this man That he was the one who pleased God And in that sense we should emulate him Because he was not slow to speak for God Indeed we read in the letter of Jude That Enoch prophesied To his evil generation Behold the Lord came with many thousands of his holy ones To execute judgment upon all And to convict all the ungodly Of all the ungodly deeds Which they had done in an ungodly way And of all the harsh things
[14:18] Which ungodly sinners had spoken Against him A message of condemnation A message which would not be looked upon kindly By the generation in which he lived And yet Enoch Pleased God so much In the way that he lived That he did not see death And so it really is an account Which teaches a vital lesson That a life of faith Pleases God And I really want to look at three things From these verses Firstly That our number one aim in life Should be that to please God You think about someone you love Husband or wife Hopefully you want to please them You love them
[15:21] And so you want to please them You want to do That which makes them happy Don't look like that I saw you But that's the case isn't it The foremost commandment The most important commandment Is that we should love the Lord our God With all our heart and soul and mind and strength And if we love God in such a way Then again We would want to please him And pleasing God Begins in the heart and the mind We can fool others Can't we We can be nice to them on the surface While in our hearts We really don't care less But we can't treat God in that way God knows our hearts He knows our every thought
[16:22] We cannot fool him And even if we fulfil a list of religious duties If we live outwardly moral lives If we say our prayers Two or three times a day If we read the scriptures regularly If we come along to church If we give to the poor We can do all those things But at the same time Our hearts betray us If we do not love God In the way we ought The Lord Jesus spoke of those Who drew near to God With their lips Whereas their hearts Were far From him So if we want to please God We must judge Every sin in our lives Take a captive To the obedience of the Lord Jesus And Again it begins On the level of heart and mind It begins In our inner beings
[17:24] God knows us He knows what we really like And so pleasing God Also requires Consistently Drawing near to him And seeking him And again that's what we find In verse 6 mentions That the one who comes to God And comes to God Comes Translates the same word That's translated Draw near In verses 4 And chapter 4 And verse 16 Where we are exhorted To draw near To the throne of grace In chapter 7 The author says that Jesus is the same forever And those who draw near To God Through him Chapter 10 States that the Old Testament Sacrifices could never Make perfect Those who draw near Again later on in that chapter We are exhorted to draw near To God With sincere hearts In full assurance
[18:24] Of faith Having our hearts Sprinkled clean From an evil conscience And so drawing near Is something That the author To the Hebrews Is very clear upon It is speaking Of our relationship With God And again We find later on Verse 6 Also mentions Those who seek him And it's a parallel here To drawing near To God And the word That is used To seek Is translated Originally As it were To mean To beat a path Towards someone So you've got The picture there Of if you Head to a certain Destination And you do so Often enough You can think about Walking through the long grass After a while That grass gets
[19:24] Trodden down Trodden down And ultimately You have a noticeable Path there And that's the idea That you are Treading down A path Towards God You draw near To him You're seeking Him And Again It's that idea Of this relationship That we are in With our Loving Heavenly Father Drawing near To God And seeking His presence They are deliberate They are intentional Actions You don't do Those things Accidentally They are something Which Means that we have Chosen to do so And we choose To seek him Ultimately because He has first Sought us And called him Called us To himself
[20:26] Through our Response To that call We must Exert Deliberate Effort To seek After the Things of our God Indeed it Should be a Priority And an aim For our Lives And we need To note also That we are To seek God Himself We're not Just to seek After rewards The Lord Promised Abram Do not Fear Abram I am A shield To you I am Your very Great Reward And in The context Of explaining To the Priests That they Wouldn't Have any Inheritance Amongst The nations Amongst The other Twelve Tribes They were Told I am Your Portion I am Your Inheritance Amongst The sons Of Israel And again The psalmist In Psalm 73
[21:26] Says Whom have I In heaven But you And besides You I desire Nothing Upon earth My flesh And my Heart May fail But God Is the Strength Of my Heart And my Portion Forever We seek God Because He is Our reward He is Our portion He is Everything We need F.B.
[21:56] Mayer Writes To have God Is to Have all Though Be Reft Of Everything But to Be Destinated Of God Is to Be Reft Of Everything Though Having All So firstly Our number One aim In life Should be To please God From the Heart And to Do so We must Consistently Draw near To him And to Seek his Face But our Text mentions An essential For pleasing God And that Essential Is Faith Without Faith It is Impossible To please God And those Two words Really underscore This in Verse Six Impossible And Must Faith
[22:56] Isn't Something Just Out There If You Have Faith But not Works We're Told Faith Is Dead Faith Must Be Practiced And it's Impossible To please God Without Faith And we Read that You must Believe that God is And that He is The rewarder Of all Those who Seek him And we Know this On the Human level If someone Doesn't believe You or Question your Integrity Then Basically They're calling You a liar And if We don't Trust God Or we Call into Question His Acts Then Ultimately We're doing The same Thing to God We're saying
[23:56] That we Don't trust Him We don't Believe Him We make Him a Liar And Occasion We will Say Well We think We know Better Than God Which Is The height Of impudence There's Arrogance There So if We want To please God We must Learn what Faith means And live By that Faith On a Daily Basis And the Author here Mentions Two aspects Of a God Pleasing Faith The first Is this That Faith Must Believe That God Is Why Does The author Start With Believing In God's Existence He's Writing To Jews Surely They Believe That God Is In
[24:58] Fact Even The Pagan Poet Cicero Observed There Is No Nation So Barbarous No People So Savage That They Have Not A Deep Seated Conviction That There Is A God So Why Then Does The author Start With This Is Is For For One Thing His Readers Were Under The Imminent Threat Of Persecution The Let The Letters Is To To To To People Who Were Wavering They Were Under The Threat Of Persecution And The Temptation Was That They Might As It Were Relinquish Their Faith In The Lord Jesus And Return To Their Practices Of Judaism Judaism Was A It Was A Protected Religion Under The Roman
[25:59] Empire It Was Recognized Whereas Christianity Was Looked Upon As A Sect And So To Follow Judaism They Had Every Right To Follow That Without The Fear Of Persecution But Now Persecution Was At Their Door And The Temptation Was To Go Back And So That Is Why The Letter To The Hebrews Is So Full Of The Beauty And The Glories Of Christ And The Preeminence Of Christ To Show That He Is Far Superior To The Sacrifice Of The Old Testament And All The Other Things That Judaism Had Going For And So Again When you Are Being Persecuted For Doing What Is Right The
[27:01] Devil May Come And Say Well You Repented Of Your Sins You Trust In God But Now Look Now Look What Happened To You If There Were A God In Heaven Would He Let You Be Treated In This Way Pouring Doubt Upon The Character The Person Of God And Although The Lord Jesus Did Not Yield To The Temptation Satan Threw This Very Same Thing To Him When He Was Upon The Cross The Chief Priests And The Scribes The Elders Mocked Him Saying He Trusts In God Let God Rescue Him Now If He Delights In Him And Again The Enemy Was Trying To Get The Lord Jesus To Doubt God's Love Towards Him His Power Or Even That Very Existence Because What God Of Love Would Allow Such Things To Take Place And
[28:02] So When The Author Says That We Must Believe That God Is He Says Or Means That We Must Believe That God Is Exactly Who The Word Of God Tells Us He Is Because If we Worship Some Other God Then We Worship A God Of Our Own Making And We Can Be Guilty Ourselves Of Idolatry To Believe In God We Must Believe The God Of The Bible The God Who Is Not Only A God Of Love But A God Of Judgment A God Who Is Not Only A God Of Mercy And Kindness But Of Holiness And Of Wrath So When The Author Says That We Must Believe That God Is He Is Saying Believe In The God Who Reveals Himself In His Word And Why Should He Say That Because
[29:03] When We Are Under Persecution Or When We Find Ourselves Under Trial It's Easier To Look To Perhaps A Kinder A Friendlier God A God Who Will Treat Us More Kindly And It's Not So Easy To Bow Before The God Of The Bible Who Is Sovereign Over Every Trial And When God Permits Your Ten Children To Be Killed In A Common Accident And Strips You Of Your Health And Your Wealth It's Not Easy To Say With Job The Lord Has Given The Lord Has Taken Away Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord And Yet At Just Such Times We Must Believe That God Is And Again As I Mentioned When
[30:03] I Prayed There Are Those When Times Of Disaster Acre Whether It Be A Tower Going Up In Flames Or A Tidal Wave Or Famine Or Warfare The Very First Question Where Is God In All This If There Were A God Why Doesn't He Do Something About It And So We Must Believe That God Is That He Does Exist He Does Care But He Is Working Out His Purposes Even Purposes That We Might Not Understand Because If We Do Not Trust In God Can I Ask You What Else Is What Is The Alternative In John Chapter Six The Lord Jesus Had Taught
[31:04] Some Things Which Weren't Very Easy To Accept And We Read That The People Began To Leave Him They Began To Depart From Him It Was Too Much For Us They Said And So The Lord Turned To His Disciples And Said Will You Not Also Depart And Peter Gave The Classic Answer Lord To Whom Should We Go You Have The Words Of Eternal Life We Have Believed And Have Come To Know That You Are The Holy One Of God You May Not Like The Trials You May May May Not Always Like The Teaching But Where Else Are You Going To Go The World Certainly Has No Answer We've Sung Above The Voices Of
[32:04] The World Around Us There Are Many Voices In This World All Claiming This And That But There's No Real Answer Not To The Real Needs Of This Life The Only Answer We Find Is Found In Our Saviour The Lord Jesus So Firstly We Must Believe That He Is And Secondly We Must Believe That God Is A Rewarder Of Those Who Seek Him And Again This Has To Do With God's Goodness Or Justice As Well As His Power Again In Times Of Trial If Satan Can't Get You To Doubt God's Existence He Will Try To Get You To Doubt God's Goodness His Fairness Or Even His Power If God Loves You And Cares About You Again Why Is This Terrible Trial Come
[33:04] Upon You Or Maybe God Cares But He Can't Do Anything About It And Faith Takes A Stand Against This Temptation Believing That God Will Reward Me Because I Have Sought Him God God Does Love Me God Does Care For Me Even Though I'm Suffering And Again I'm Reminded Here Of Those Three Friends In Babylon Meshach Shadrach And Abednego And When King Nebuchadnezzar Gave That Order That Every Knee Should Bow To The Idol That He Had Made When All The Sounds Of The Music Began The People Were Commanded To Bow Down Before This Ninety Foot Idol That Nebuchadnezzar Had Established And There Were Three Men Who Didn't Bow Down Meshach
[34:05] Shadrach Abednego They Were Told If They Didn't Bow Down They Would Be Thrown Into A Fiery Furnace And When They Didn't Bow Down The King Was Furious He Brought Them Into His Presence And Says Why Have You Not Bowed Down I Give You Another Opportunity But Those Three Men Stood Up And Said Oh King Live Forever Know This The God Whom We Serve He Is Able To Deliver Us Out Of Your Hand But You Know If He Doesn't Deliver Us We Will Still Not Bow Down To Your Image And Hopefully You Know The Rest Of The Story That The King In His Anger Ordered The Furnace To Be Heated Seven Times Hotter Than Usual Commanded The Strongest Men To Bind Them To Throw Them Into The Fire And They Were Thrown Into The Fire But
[35:07] On That Occasion When The King Looked In He Saw Not Three Men But Four Men Walking Around In The Fire The Fourth Had The Appearance Like The Son Of God Those Three Men Were Delivered In Their Trial Not From It But You Know Even If They Weren't Delivered Even If They Had Given Their Lives They Would Not Deny Their Faith In God Without Faith It's Impossible To Please God They Believe That God Would Reward Them If Not In This Life Then In The Life To Come And Again I Would Ask The Question Do We Have This Same Faith And We Need To Again Ensure That
[36:08] We Believe To Make Sure That We Are Trusting In Christ For Salvation First And Foremost Because Saving Faith Is Not Just Mentally Assenting To The Promise That If You Believe In Jesus Christ You Will Have Eternal Life You Must Agree With God's Promise But Faith Is More Than Agree We Read That The Devils Believe And They Shudder It's Also Relying Personally Upon The Lord Jesus As Your Only Hope Of Heaven To Turn From Relying Upon Your Own Self Upon Your Own Good Deeds Whatever You're Trusting In And To Believe That It Is Only Through God That We Have Eternal Life That We Must Understand That And Ensure That We Know That We Are Saved And To Know That
[37:08] It Is By Faith Alone That We Are Saved Not Through Anything That We Can Do Faith Without Works Is Dead But These Works Do Not Save Us It Is Only Through The Blood Of Christ That We Are Saved And We Do These Good Works Not To Save Us But Because We Are Saved That's The Distinction We Need To Make The Lord Jesus He Is The One Who Merits Our Salvation And Brings Every Spiritual Blessing We Deserve Nothing But God In His Mercy Gives Us Everything Martin Buse One Of The Reformers Explains When God Rewards Our Good Works He Is Rewarding His Work And Gifts In Us Rather
[38:09] Than Our Own Works Since God Works In Us Both To Will And To Work For His Good Pleasure And He Says That All The Good That God Does To Us And The Eternal Life That He Gives Us Still Remain The Results Of His Grace Alone So No One Should Boast Of Himself But Only Of The Lord And Understanding That We Do Not Merit Salvation By Our Faith But Faith Is Simply The Means The Channel Through Which God God's Blessing Flows To Us And Then Thirdly We Must Remember That The Rewards Of Faith May Not Be In This World But Certainly They Will Be In Eternity We Think Of Abel When We Read Of All Those Lifespans In Genesis Chapter Five People Live Up To 900
[39:09] And Years Abel's Life Wasn't That Long And Yet His Comparative Short Life Was Greatly Blessed He Pleased God More Than His Brother Abel Who Lived Many Years And Had Many Earthly Successes The Same Is True Of Moses He Chose To Give Up His Comfortable Situation As A Son Of Pharaoh's Daughter To Endure Ill Treatment Along With The People Of God Why Because He Was Looking To The Reward Not The Reward That The People Of Israel Were Enjoying But a Greater Reward That Came From God God And This Is Again Illustrated In The Case Of Enoch Even Though He Lived Only Again 365
[40:09] Years Yet His Life Is Accomplished So Much So Much So That Again He Was Taken From This Life Without Seeing Death And Enoch's Translation Into Heaven Is An Illustration Of What God Will Do For Those Who Are Alive When Jesus Returns We Will Be Caught Up In The Clouds To Meet Jesus In The Air And We Shall Always Be Together With The Lord And Even For Believers Who Die Physically There Is A Sense In Which They Will Not See Death Because As The Lord Jesus Told Martha At The Tomb Of Lazarus He Said I Am The Resurrection Of Life He Who Believes Me So He Who Believes In Me Will Leave Even Though He Dies And
[41:10] Everyone Who Lives And Believes In Me Will Never Die And Then He Turns To Appointed And Says Do You Believe This Do You Believe This Faith Looks To God For The Reward Of Eternal Life In Heaven Not Just For A Good Life In The Here And Now So We See That Our First Number One Aim In Life Should Be To Please God We See That Faith Is Essential To Please God And Finally We Need To See That Faith Is A Daily Walk With God That Extends Throughout Our Whole Lives And Enoch's Life Also Illustrates This Point Genesis 5 Does Not Mention Faith In Connection With Enoch But It Does Say Twice That He Walked With
[42:10] God Enoch Enoch Was Well Pleasing To God Since It Is Impossible To Please God Without Faith It Follows That Enoch Walked By Faith His 300 Year Walk Of Faith Obtained God's Testimony That He Was Pleasing To Him And We Must Walk With Faith By Faith With God On Earth If We Expected Well With Him In Heaven And I Was Struck When Looking At This When You Think About Walking How Impressive Is Walking Is Walking Impressive When You Think That You Know Enoch Was Translated Into Heaven You
[43:11] Could Say Well Surely A Greater Testament To This Man Would Be The Man Who Flew With God But He Says No Enoch Was Known As A Person Who Walked With God It Was A Step By Step Progression Through His Life A Life Lived With Again Building This Relationship With Him With God And Again It Doesn't Sound Impressive Does It But It's What We Need We Need To Be Those Who Are Faithful Day By Day And Sometimes When People Look Upon Us They They Don't See Anything Spectacular About Us They Don't See Anything Particularly Impressive About Us But They Should See That We Are Men And Women
[44:11] Who Know Our God Who Have This Relationship With God That We Don't Do Certain Things We Don't Say Certain Things We Not Engaged In Gossiping In The Staff Room Or Whatever We Don't We're Not Those Who Share In The Chorse Joking That Takes Place In The Workplace We Don't We're Not Those Who Tolerate Swearing In Our Presence Or Blasphemy We Are Those Who Make A Stand For Our God And We're Told That Enoch Walked With God And We Think About It John Bunyan's Work The Pelagrion's Progress Speaks Of Christian And What Does Christian Do He Leaves The City Of Destruction And He Walks To The Eternal City Going Through All The Various Adventures Along The Way All
[45:12] The Various Experiences Along The Way But It's Described As A Walk And We Shouldn't Be Afraid To Be Those Who Walk With God Because Really When You Think Of It Walking Implies Intimacy And Fellowship Don't Know If Anybody Here Enjoys Running No Well I Used To Some People But I Used To Do A Park Run Every Saturday Morning Running Five Kilometers And I Was Never In The Situation Where I Could Have A Chat With The
[46:26] Walk Together And Again What A Wonderful Illustration Of Walking Together With God Intimacy And Fellowship And Again It's Something Very Precious When We're Able To Spend That Time Together Walking With Our God And Again We Need To To To Be Those Who Spend Time With God We Need To Be Spending Time With God Reading The Scriptures Hearing What God Would Say To Us We Need To Be Those Who Are Spending Time Talking To God Ourselves In Prayer Or Fellowship Together With His People Using The Means Of Grace That God Has Given Us And All That Time Then We Are Building This Relationship With God We Are Walking Together
[47:27] With Him And So Just To Close We Need To To Follow The Example Of This Man Enoch There's Not A lot Written About Him But What Is Is It's Very Wonderful And You Know If We Have Trusted In Christ Our Saviour But Somehow Have Grown Lazy And We're Not Walking With Him Then We Need To Get Back On That Path Because Faith Is A Daily Dependence Upon God Step By Step By Step And That Continues Over Our Whole Lifetime There's Never Going To Be A Time When You Are Able To Be Independent
[48:28] Of God And Go And Do Things In Your Own Strength We Need God Day By Day Step By Step All So Number One Priority To Please God We Please God By Living In A Life Of Faith Believing In Him Believing He Rewards Those Who Seek Him Walking With Him Step By Step By Step Will You Do That well I can encourage you to do that to make it your aim to know God more so you can say because without faith it is impossible to please him let's pray our gracious God and loving Father we just want to say thank you that you are a great and almighty God and Lord God we admit there are times we don't always understand the ways the paths you lead us into but Father we thank you that we can trust you because we know that you are we know that you are the God who rewards those who diligently seek after you
[49:46] Father we pray that you would help us to follow the example of Enoch who walked with God who pleased you so much that he did not see death and so Lord God and Father we we ask oh God that you would forgive us again for those times we have failed to acknowledge you in our lives and help us again all the more to seek your face for we ask it in Jesus precious name Amen well we're going to close our service this evening by singing together the hymn 653 653 love divine or love's excelling joy of heaven to earth come down fix in us thy humble dwelling all thy faithful mercies crown Jesus thou art all compassion pure and bounded love thou art visit us with thy salvation enter every trembling heart loveited affront more of thy visit us with by prayer the next grace and the name of their earth and awe are weapons которые ring
[51:22] The divine, the love of God's excelling, Joy of them to earth come down.
[51:36] The sea of the people of the dwelling, O and faithfulness is crowned.
[51:50] Jesus, God, the Lord of passion, Pure and founded, Lord of all.
[52:04] Jesus, we rise, salvation, Enter every trembling heart.
[52:18] Sweet, O bring, thy loving spirit, Into every troubled rest.
[52:34] Let us all in thee inherit, Let us find thy promise rest.
[52:48] Take away the powerful singing, Of the land of eager healing, When, O bring, thy love's beginning, Set our hearts at liberty.
[53:16] Come, O mighty, to the river, Let us all thy grace receive.
[53:32] Suddenly, return, and never, Nevermore, Thy temple's leave.
[53:48] Thee we burn, be always blessing, Set the air, thy host of heart.
[54:02] Pray and praise thee, without ceasing, Glory in thy fervent love.
[54:18] Thee we burn, be always blessing, Let us all in thee. Let us all in thee, Let us all in thee, Let us all in thee. Let us all in thee, Let us all in thee, Let us all in thee.
[54:44] Thank you.
[55:14] Thank you.
[55:44] Amen.
