[0:00] tweeted We'll be right back.
[1:00] And we're going to sing how deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure. And He should give His only Son to make His treasure.
[1:48] The great play of the searing heart, the Father turns His ways away.
[2:00] And who's God, the chosen one, we pay His son to glory. The great play of the searing heart, the Son to make His love for us, how vast beyond all measure.
[2:16] The great play of the searing heart, the Son to make His love for us, how vast beyond all measure. I sing upon His shoulders, the shame I hear my longing voice, for I was among the strongest.
[2:37] The great play of the searing heart, the Son to make His love for us, how vast beyond all measure. Until it was accomplished, His dying breath has brought me high.
[2:54] I know that He is made. I know that He is made.
[3:06] I know that He is made. I know that He is made. I know that He is made. But a place, the great play of the searing heart, thepowered Jud standpoint, The world can seek His only Son to make His new life.
[3:21] For He is made. The great play of the searing heart, the Lord has chosen to work, And who has created and moved His удost hábud and able to ascend his name.
[3:40] I know it all my heart His wounds are made my ransom Our second hymn is a hymn which echoes that theme really of questioning of why should God have loved us and sent his son into the world why we've just sang why should I gain from his reward we are those who've sinned against God deserve only his judgment and his anger and yet amazingly incredibly he gave his son to be our saviour and our second hymn again reminds us of that why should Jesus come from heaven there's only one reason only one motivation that he should come love for sinful men and women like us that desire to save us and make us right with God so let's remain seated as we continue to sing I cannot tell why he whom angels worship shall shed his love upon the sons of men or his whose holy hail not goodbye so let's shed his love upon the sons of saints so let's remain d ouais nor his and thy little the sons of men
[5:00] I cannot tell my evil angels worship, to set his love upon the sons of men.
[5:20] For I have shared that he should seek the waters, to bring them back they know not how or where.
[5:36] But this I know that he was born of Mary, when Bethlehem's manger was his only home.
[5:52] And that he prayed and mazarin and raven, and so the saviour, saviour of the world is come.
[6:09] Amen. Come to the third of our introductory songs.
[6:19] It's a prayer which is asking for God's Holy Spirit to be with us, and to meet with us, and to work in us, and to change us.
[6:30] And so we're going to remain seated while we sing this song. We'll sing it through twice together. And then perhaps if we could please, just for one minute, spend time in silent prayer before we come to our main part of the worship this morning.
[6:45] So if we can, refrain from chatting together, however lovely it is to see one another. Sing it through twice together, and then in silent prayer just commit ourselves to the Lord, and this time to the Lord as well.
[6:58] Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[7:27] Thank you. Spirit of the living cross, all that wretched are me.
[7:41] Great King, help me, O dear, ill King.
[7:54] Spirit of the living cross, all that wretched are me.
[8:08] Spirit of the living cross, all that wretched are me.
[8:20] Spirit of the living cross, all that wretched are me.
[8:32] Great King, help me, O dear, ill King.
[8:45] Spirit of the living cross, all that wretched are me.
[8:58] Holy Spirit of the living cross, all that wretched are me.
[9:26] We do welcome you to Whitby Evangelical Church and thank you for coming and sharing with us in our worship this morning. Why are we here? Why is this world here?
[9:42] Why is it that God has created us and made us? Why is it that any of us have life and breath? There is one purpose, one goal, one reason, one motivation for each one of our lives, that which we find in the Lord Jesus Christ.
[10:03] And it's this, that we might worship and praise and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. That's exactly what happens in heaven. If your hope, if your assurance and confidence is that Christ is your Savior, that he has taken your sins away, made you right with God.
[10:23] If you've been born again of his Holy Spirit, then you can be assured that one day you shall be in heaven. And here is a snapshot of heaven in Revelation and chapter 5, where we're told that a great number of thousands upon thousands of voices were lifted up before God.
[10:39] And they said in a loud voice, worthy is the Lamb who was slain. It's Christ, isn't it? The perfect, sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
[10:50] To receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise. All things belong to him.
[11:02] We belong to him. Because he has created us. And he has bought us with his precious blood. So Jesus is the name. High over all.
[11:14] The most wonderful name in all the universe. So let us stand now and sing hymn number one. Jesus the night. High over all in hell or earth or sky.
[11:33] Angels and men before it fall.
[12:03] And devil's fear and flight. And devil's fear and flight. And devil's fear and flight.
[12:15] Jesus the night to sing as him. Unhamed. Unhamed to sin as him.
[12:31] He encounters all their guilty fear. He turns their hell to hell.
[12:42] He turns their hell to hell. He turns their hell to hell. Jesus the briseless, better grace.
[12:55] And bruised at Satan's death. Our angels strength.
[13:09] The soul's his feet. And life into the dead. And life into the dead. And life into the dead.
[13:26] Oh, that the world might taste and see. The riches of his grace.
[13:41] The arms of love that compass me. Would all mankind embrace.
[13:52] Would all mankind embrace. Would all mankind embrace. His only righteousness I show.
[14:09] His saving truth proclaim. Tis all my business here below.
[14:22] To pride behold the land. To pride behold the land. To pride behold the land.
[14:36] Happy in with my latest friend. My name but trust his name.
[14:51] Praise him to all and cry in death. Behold, behold the land.
[15:02] Behold, behold the land. Behold, behold the land. Very seated.
[15:17] Let us, let us pray together. Let us pray. Let us pray. Before your throne in heaven this morning.
[15:32] Oh Lord our God. There are a countless number. Of men and women. Of angelic creatures as well. Worshipping, adoring, praising, delighting.
[15:46] Rejoicing in your presence. Lifting high your name. In the name of your dear son. The Lord Jesus Christ. That spotless lamb who was slain.
[15:58] From before the creation of the world. That one who indeed. Came into this world. To shed his blood for sinful people. For us.
[16:09] And oh Lord we thank you. That by your grace. By your goodness. By your mercy. We too can come and join our voices with theirs. Their voices are sinless and perfect.
[16:21] But Lord ours are imperfect. Lord their hearts and their lives. Are pleasing to you. Yet oh Lord we confess.
[16:33] That so much of our lives. Do not please you. But we are still in the body. In the flesh. We are still Lord those sinful people.
[16:44] Those people who go our own way. And do our own thing. We are still those people. Whose hearts Lord. In so many ways. Are hardened. Hardened against your will. And yet oh Lord.
[16:55] We thank you. That you receive our worship. And our praise. As you receive theirs. Thank you. That you do not turn aside from us. Or count our worship as unworthy of you.
[17:06] For we thank you. That by the blood of the son. The Lord Jesus Christ. You've cleansed us from our sins. You've made us holy. And acceptable in him. You've made us to be your delight.
[17:17] And your joy. Your treasure. And we thank you oh Lord. That though we are far from perfect. Yet oh Lord. We thank you. That you've put your. Our sins behind your back.
[17:29] You've buried them in the deepest sea. You've chosen to remember them no more. We are forgiven people. Oh we thank you for that. That no matter what the past.
[17:40] Or even the present. Or even the future. In Christ we are forgiven. And we are cleansed. And we are yours. And oh Lord. We ask that even the truths.
[17:52] Of who we are in Christ. May so warm and. And mold our hearts. May so cause us to be stirred oh Lord. In worship and praise. Not only in this hour. In this time.
[18:03] But oh Lord. In the week ahead. In the days that you give us ahead. May we be such people that live for you. And love you. With mind and heart. And soul and strength.
[18:15] We thank you our God. That you are here. Just as much as you are in heaven. So you are here by your Holy Spirit. That blessed spirit of truth. Who you Lord Jesus promised.
[18:27] And who came on the day of Pentecost. And will never leave his church. Until that wonderful work is accomplished. When all your chosen ones are brought in. When all those for whom Christ died.
[18:39] Are gathered into the fold. Under the one great and good shepherd. Our Lord Jesus. We thank you that that is your great work. Holy Spirit. To open the eyes of the blind.
[18:50] To raise the dead. To set free the captive. To give peace to the troubled. And our prayer and our longing. Oh Lord our God. Is that for those of us who know.
[19:01] That wonderful work in our lives. That we may continue to delight in you. Day by day. For those oh Lord we pray. Who do not yet know.
[19:12] That wonderful freedom from captivity. That wonderful life from the dead. Our prayer and longing is that you would do a work. Even this morning in those hearts and lives. That you would not allow us to remain where we are.
[19:25] In the dungeon of our sin. But that you would break in with light. Everlasting and eternal. That Lord you would save. And that you would get for yourself. The praise you deserve from every heart.
[19:37] Be with us oh Lord. Bless us in this time we ask. For we bring all of our requests. Our prayers and our concerns to you. Before your throne of grace.
[19:48] In and through the name of Jesus Christ. Our Savior and King. Amen. We do welcome you. Especially those of you who are here.
[20:00] For the Whitby Gospel Music Convention. And we trust that you've had a good few days so far. I'm sure that you have. That you've been encouraged. That you've been blessed. That you've been helped.
[20:12] And as Whitby Evangelical Church. We welcome you to our morning service. In a moment I'm going to ask Live Issue. Who I imagine are you.
[20:24] I think you are. Otherwise. To come and to sing to us. And to encourage us in our spirits.
[20:36] Through song and music. And then a little later as well. Our dear friend Roger Carswell. Who I particularly want to welcome. This year. He's been speaking at the convention.
[20:47] As you know. He'll be bringing us God's word a little later too. Thank you so much for being with us Roger. We know you're very very busy. You've been. Where were you last week? Well for the last. Nearly three weeks. I've been in London.
[20:58] Right. And I go back on Tuesday. Goodness. My London month. Wow. My goodness me. So you've. You've come up to the north. To be refreshed. Absolutely. To breathe some good air.
[21:09] Breathe some good air. Good clean air. Yeah. Okay. So we trust the Lord. We'll be praying for you this week as well. And we were praying for you during the week. Thank you. But we look forward to what God has laid upon Roger's heart.
[21:20] So I'm going to invite a live issue to come in to sing to us just now. Thank you very much. If you want to introduce yourselves a little bit. Then that would be great as well.
[21:31] To be realised along. So Doug, let Emmatura.
[21:45] Thank you veryЁ. Stop PETER BORN's today visit the moment, to listen! Bye-bye Gary-hoo.
[21:58] what we've got. We've got a guitar case. So live issue is really live this morning, but it is such a pleasure to be here. We have enjoyed so many services. I think this is our sixth Whitby Gospel Music Convention, and on all those occasions I think we've been here at the Evangelical Church, and it's always such a blessing to see you and to be part of your service. And we're going to start off by singing a song by a lady called Dottie Rambo. And when Dottie became a Christian, she came to know the Lord as a young girl. She just felt that she needed nothing else in her life because the Lord had filled that void, that space in her life, and her life was complete. And she wrote this song, and it's called Full Up, No Vacancy.
[22:50] I've got a brand new sign with bright red letters hanging on the door of my heart. The Lord moved in, and I never felt better. My life has changed. I've made a brand new start. Well, I'll let the devil know he isn't welcome anymore when he comes calling on me. Oh, how mad he's gonna be when he begins to read.
[23:30] Full Up, No Vacancy. I traveled down the road of disappointment, faced each new day idle and blue.
[23:43] Then I opened up my heart and the light of the Lord came shining. The whole world changed the night that I prayed through.
[23:54] I've got a brand new sign with bright red letters hanging on the door of my heart. The Lord moved in, and I never felt better. My life has changed. I've made a brand new start. Well, I'll let the devil know he isn't welcome anymore when he comes calling on me.
[24:24] Oh, how mad he's gonna be when he begins to read. Full Up, No Vacancy. The devil said the world was a rainbow. And I would find my fortune round the bend. But all I ever found was heartache and trouble until that day I let the Lord come in.
[24:54] I've got a brand new sign with bright red letters hanging on the door of my heart. The Lord moved in, and I never felt better. My life has changed. I've made a brand new start. Well, I'll let the devil know he isn't welcome anymore when he comes calling on me.
[25:24] Oh, how mad he's gonna be when he begins to read. Full Up, No Vacancy. Full Up, No Vacancy.
[25:39] Full Up, No Vacancy. Full Up, No Vacancy.
[25:56] I'm just thinking of how much we could save on access baggage when we're flying if we just travel like this all the time. I know, I think EasyJet would go out of business if we did that.
[26:10] These boys were saying they wouldn't know what to do with their hands. Do you want to introduce this song? Do a crown on your shoulder.
[26:29] Okay, okay, okay. It's tremendous knowing the Lord as Saviour. And I've known him for many years, since 1969 when I trusted Christ.
[26:40] And as a young fellow then everything went great, and you think this is it. This is life with a capital L. And it is. But God never promised the bed of roses along the way.
[26:54] And along the way there are plenty of troubles and trials. There are heartaches. And I'm sure many of you today, there's something possibly going on in your life that no one else knows.
[27:08] But only God. And what it's changed to us in our lives, and I have too. But it's great to know that he's the Saviour. And he's the one who knows all about it.
[27:21] He's the one who cares for us. And he's the one who understands. If no one else does, no one else knows just where you are now.
[27:33] But he does. And it's great to be able to come to him in prayer. And turn to the God of creation. And receive help from him. This is a beautiful song recorded, Can you hear the fire?
[27:47] The prayer coming to God saying, Simply, I'm climbing the shoulder again. Heartaches seem to find me, no matter where I hide.
[28:15] There are some things I just don't understand. And Lord, sometimes I fail you, no matter how I try.
[28:29] But I know where to find your loving hand. And I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[28:40] Yes, I'll be crying on your shoulder again. Yes, I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[28:51] Yes, I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[29:04] Yes, I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[29:17] Yes, I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[29:28] They say life is what we make it. But it's sometimes so unfair. We have to take the sunshine with the rain.
[29:44] But I don't mind the storms, as long as you are there. Your loving hand will drive away the pain.
[29:57] And I'll be crying on your shoulder again. And I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[30:12] You're the one I lean on. And Lord, you're my best friend. When I have a problem that I can't understand, I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[30:32] I'll be crying on your shoulder again. And when I have a problem that I can't understand, I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[30:53] Yes, I'll be crying on your shoulder again. I'll be crying on your shoulder again.
[31:10] Thank you.
[31:21] Thank you.
